Quit Smoking Hub — Data Center
The evidence and knowledge infrastructure behind Quit Smoking Hub. Where the main site gives practical knowledge, questions and community experiences, this site provides the structured evidence layer: research records, guidelines, definitions, evidence pages and the community data documentation.
What this site is
- Evidence layer: every research record is a published, citable study — never invented, never summarized from memory. See Research.
- Guideline comparison: what WHO, USPSTF, NICE and the US PHS actually recommend, with dates and differences stated. See Guidelines.
- Medication and method evidence: per-medication and per-method evidence pages with strength ratings. See Medications and Cessation Methods.
- Withdrawal science: symptom-by-symptom science — definition, mechanism, timing, what varies, what may help. See Withdrawal.
- Defined vocabulary: a stable glossary used consistently across both sites. See Definitions.
- Controversies, stated plainly: e-cigarettes, gradual-vs-abrupt, dual use, medication comparisons. See Controversies.
- Community data documentation: how the experience database is built, its statistics, and its limits. See Community Data.
The relationship between the two sites
| Main site | Data center |
|---|---|
| Practical knowledge and guidance | Evidence and structured records |
| Questions with direct answers | Research and guidelines behind the answers |
| Community experiences and patterns | Community data documentation and statistics |
| Timeline, tools, triggers | Withdrawal science, behaviour-change mechanisms |
The main site links here for evidence; this site links back for practical application. Neither duplicates the other.
Evidence integrity rules
- No fabricated studies, authors, DOIs, PMIDs, statistics or findings. Every record traces to its published source, linked from the record page.
- Community experience is not medical evidence. Community data are reported as observations with their own documentation, always separate from the evidence layer.
- Uncertainty is stated, not smoothed over. Where evidence conflicts or is insufficient, it says so — see Controversies.
- No individual medical advice. Medication pages describe what the evidence shows; they never prescribe.
